Renault Duster India Launch: March 17 2026, Specs, Price, Engines & Features

After years of waiting, Renault has officially confirmed that the all-new Renault Duster will launch in India on March 17, 2026. The SUV’s return marks a major comeback for a nameplate that once helped define the mid-size SUV segment in India.

Launch Date & Bookings

Renault India has set the official launch date for March 17, 2026, with prices and variant details to be unveiled on the same day. Deliveries of the turbo-petrol models are expected to begin soon after, with the strong hybrid version arriving closer to the Diwali 2026 season.

Expected Price

Industry estimates suggest that the new Duster could be priced between ₹11.6 lakh and ₹16.7 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it competitively within the mid-size SUV segment.

Engine & Powertrain Options

At launch, the Duster will be offered with two turbo-petrol engines:

  • A 1.0-litre turbo petrol (about 100 PS / 160 Nm) with a 6-speed manual.
  • A 1.3-litre turbo petrol (163 PS / 280 Nm) available with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed DCT automatic.

A 1.8-litre strong hybrid petrol powertrain will join the lineup later in 2026, producing around 158 PS combined output and capable of running in EV mode for a majority of city driving.

Design & Exterior Highlights

The 2026 Duster retains the rugged, upright SUV stance the nameplate is known for, while adopting a modern and muscular design. It features:

  • Eyebrow-style LED DRLs doubling as turn indicators
  • Bold grille with “Duster” lettering
  • 18-inch alloy wheels and robust cladding
  • 212 mm ground clearance and strong approach & departure angles

These updates give the SUV both road presence and go-anywhere appeal.

Interior & Features

Inside, the Duster’s cabin is significantly upgraded with dual large screens — a 10.1-inch infotainment unit and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster — along with:

  • Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
  • Panoramic sunroof
  • Dual-zone climate control
  • Ventilated seats
  • Wireless charging
  • Advanced safety tech including Level 2 ADAS suite
  • 360-degree camera and multiple airbags

These features bring the new Duster up to par with modern competitors in both tech and comfort.

Segment Rivals

Once launched, the new Renault Duster will compete with several key midsize SUVs in India, including:

  • Hyundai Creta
  • Kia Seltos
  • Tata Sierra
  • Skoda Kushaq
  • Honda Elevate

This segment has become intensely competitive, and Renault is banking on a strong value proposition backed by tech, hybrid efficiency and rugged capability.
