FASTag Annual Pass Price Increased to ₹3,075 from April 1, 2026 – Key Details Explained

FASTag Annual Pass Price Increased to ₹3,075 from April 2026

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced a marginal increase in the FASTag Annual Pass price, which will come into effect from April 1, 2026. The cost of the optional pass will rise from ₹3,000 to ₹3,075, in line with the revised toll fee structure for the upcoming financial year.

The FASTag Annual Pass, introduced on August 15, 2025, is designed to simplify toll payments for frequent highway users by allowing a one-time annual payment instead of multiple recharges.

Revised Pricing and Validity

Under the updated pricing, private vehicle owners will need to pay ₹3,075 for the annual pass, which remains valid for:

  • One year from activation, or
  • Up to 200 toll crossings,

whichever limit is reached first.

The pass is available exclusively for non-commercial vehicles such as cars, jeeps, and vans with an active FASTag.

Growing Adoption Among Highway Users

Since its launch, the FASTag Annual Pass has seen strong adoption across India. According to official data, over 50–56 lakh motorists have already opted for the scheme.

With toll charges ranging from around ₹70 to over ₹200 at various plazas, the pass has emerged as a cost-effective and convenient option for daily commuters and frequent highway travellers.

Additionally, FASTag itself has become the dominant mode of toll collection in India, accounting for over 98% of total toll transactions on national highways.

Where Is the FASTag Annual Pass Valid?

The FASTag Annual Pass can be used at approximately 1,150 toll plazas across:

  • National Highways
  • National Expressways

However, the pass is not valid on certain routes, including:

  • Delhi–Meerut Expressway
  • Eastern Peripheral Expressway

On such routes, toll charges will continue to be calculated based on distance travelled.

How to Apply or Activate the Pass

Vehicle owners can easily purchase or renew the FASTag Annual Pass through:

  • Official NHAI website
  • Rajmarg Yatra mobile application (Android & iOS)
  • Authorized toll plaza centres

The pass can be activated on an existing FASTag, without requiring a new tag. During activation, authorities verify:

  • Vehicle registration details
  • FASTag linkage
  • Proper placement on the windshield

Usage Rules and Conditions

NHAI has clarified several important rules for using the annual pass:

  • The pass is vehicle-specific and non-transferable
  • It cannot be used on another vehicle
  • Misuse may result in FASTag deactivation
  • Once the 200-trip limit or 1-year validity ends, it automatically reverts to a regular FASTag

Users who exhaust their trips early can purchase a new pass immediately without waiting for expiry.

Why the Price Was Revised

The price revision is part of the National Highway Fee Rules (Amendment) 2025, which mandates an annual review of toll-related charges.

Despite the slight increase of ₹75, the pass continues to offer significant savings and convenience, especially for users who frequently travel across toll plazas.
